Two adjacent sides of a parallelogram are 3.2cm and 4cm. What is the ratio of their altitudes.

Area of a Parallelogram = Base × Height
From the figure,
Area of a Parallelogram = Base × Height = AB × CE = 3.2 × CE …(1)
Area of a Parallelogram = Base × Height = BC × AF = 4 × AF …(2)
From (1) and (2)
3.2 × CE = 4 × AF
Therefore the ratio of the altitudes is 4: 3.2
