Area of a Parallelogram = Base × Height

From the figure,

Area of a Parallelogram = Base × Height = AB × CE = 3.2 × CE …(1)

Area of a Parallelogram = Base × Height = BC × AF = 4 × AF …(2)

From (1) and (2)

3.2 × CE = 4 × AF

begin mathsize 16px style CE over AF space equals space fraction numerator begin display style 4 end style over denominator begin display style 3.2 end style end fraction end style

Therefore the ratio of the altitudes is 4: 3.2
