Blood may be thicker than water, but money muddies everything.

That’s the prevailing message in the new teaser for Starz’s hit prequel spinoff Power Book III: Raising Kanan, which also touts the drama’s Season 2 premiere date — Sunday, Aug. 14 — and the Wu-Tang Clan’s “C.R.E.A.M.”

The early 1990s-set series is the third in the Power Universe, and tells the origin story of 50 Cent’s character Kanan Stark and his foray into crime through his drug queenpin mother, Raquel “Raq” Thomas. Former Disney kid Mekai Curtis stars as the titular Kanan and Tony Award winner Patina Miller plays Raq. Hailey Kilgore costars as Kanan’s cousin and close confidant, Jukebox.

Tensions will mount in Season 2, as seen in the trailer above, when Raq gains control over the city’s drug scene, but loses her emotional hold on Kanan because of Detective Howard’s (Omar Epps) lingering secret.

Lou-Lou, meanwhile, wants to focus on his emerging record label, but Raq only sees the downsides of losing her little brother and most trusted lieutenant. As for Marvin, he remains loyal to his younger sister Raq, but can’t seem to win back Jukebox’s trust and forgiveness after physically and verbally attacking her for being a lesbian.

“Family. Us. I know we got our differences,” Raq intones. “But at the end of the day, we blood. And that’s way more important than any static that’s between us.”

Little tired of seeing the same storyline of blacks being the only drug dealers when we know who flew all the drugs into the Us.and who made the real money in the game.

It’s not about who made more money it’s about the struggle. Besides there are movies about pilots too. And power has Tommy’s story breaking bad gives us walt and blow gives us george. The game is portrayed with equality imo. Theres room for all the peoples stories doesnt matter what pigment there skin is.

It’s about you mind and circumstances that you are in at that time your mind your mind has its own creative activities it set out to conquer whatever you desire to do a thinker can run the world

It’s entertainment!! Breathe Sir

I don’t think it indicate blacks as on the only drug dealers, but it show like most things blacks suffered the worse and endured the most losses from addictions, destroyed communities to mass incarcerations. There are plenty other story lines from the mafia to the cartel the people who really made money. Snowfall is a good example of how they flooded these communities with drugs then launched a war on drugs. That’s such an evil deed even the devil is smiling at that one.

We know how his story ends but now we get to see how he got there.

Ya buddy

I can’t wait for any of The POWER SERIES To Occupy My Sunday Nite TV
. ,”CURTIS”FIFTY”JACKSON
Had brought STARZ more $$$ than any other Series They have and they have some other shows, yet if it wasn’t for POWER SERIES I would have never subscribed to STARZ

Power is a good show for everyone, sounds as if you’re white! No one ever cares how it got here because that’s the quite part of it. No one wants to watch someone flying an airplane the whole movie. ACTION is what got starz where they are.

Yes it’s about time! I don’t know why it took so long.

Well Charles you need look back in history there are few guys that where larger them the Mob. As Guy Fisher and Bumpy Johnson and the well Known Frank Mathews no one made more money in the drug game. And there were black males. That’s the problem you have few people been lied too and don’t no history and see it in one way. But im going to tell you are way off. That’s Why we need CRT in classroom some people just don’t have a clue of the historic Achievements of African Americans.
